If the rich are so smart, then why doesn't someone simply buy Iceland? Turn it into a geothermal haven for energy to be sold all over the world? Rebuild their economy, and make millions more dollars? The rich are acting as if they are going to be the only ones who survive this crisis... as if their money will somehow see them through this, acting as if having money is the new Eugenics program of the 21st century. What they are forgetting, is that money is simply paper... and that their paper will be worthless once their grand plan to be uncongenial, and uncooperative until the poor die off comes to fruition. Would they hype it up and make entertainment from it? Also, if the Mayans were really good at predicting the end of things, why didn't they predict the end of their own society? And what makes us assume their calender was meant for our society? Are we that egocentric? If you want to worry about something, worry about climate change and resource depletion. If Pisces began in 148 B.C., the last day of the 2,160 year Age coincides with the winter solstice in 2012. 12 X 2,160 = 25,920 years. The actual cause of the Precession is the wobble of the Earth's axis. And 25 years ago, it was noted by international scientists in Antarctica that Carbon Dioxide levels rise for 21,000 years (Vostok ice core samples) and then stop - beginning a new ice age! The Mayan calendar is strikingly similar to the Precession but that's not surprising since ancient builders from India, Greece, Rome, and Egypt noted the same thing - the stars "fall back" in the sky! Scientists know today, however, that it's not the stars but the oscillation or wobble of the Earth's axis that causes global climate change, just as the tilt of the axis causes summer, winter, spring and fall.
